Surah 26. Ash-Shu'araa
Ta-Seen-Mim
«طسَمَ» الله أعلم بمراده بذلك
Verse 1These are the Verses of the clear book (the Qur’an)
«تلك» أي هذه الآيات «آيات الكتاب» القرآن والإضافة بمعنى من «المبين» المظهر الحق من الباطل
Verse 2It may be that you (O Muhammad) are going to kill yourself (with grief) because they don’t become believers
«لعلك» يا محمد «باخعٌ نفسك» قاتلها غما من أجل «ألا يكونوا» أي أهل مكة «مؤمنين» ولعل هنا للإشفاق أي أشفق عليها بتخفيف هذا الغم
Verse 3If We will, We could send down a Verse to them from the heaven so their necks would bend to it in humility
«إن نشأ ننزل عليهم من السماء آية فظلّت» بمعنى المضارع: أي تظل، أي تدوم «أعناقهم لها خاضعين» فيؤمنون، ولما وصفت الأعناق بالخضوع الذي هو لأربابها جمعت الصفة جمع العقلاء
Verse 4And never comes to them any reminder from the Gracious (Allah) as a recent revelation, but they have been turning away from it
«وما يأتيهم من ذكر» قرآن «من الرحمن مُحدّث» صفة كاشفة «إلا كانوا عنه معرضين»
Verse 5So they have denied (this Qur’an), then the news will come to them of what they were mocking at
«فقد كذبوا» به «فسيأتيهم أنباء» عواقب «ما كانوا به يستهزءُون»
Verse 6Don’t they observe the earth to see how much We have caused every good kind to grow in it
«أوَلم يروا» ينظروا «إلى الأرض كم أنبتنا فيها» أي كثيرا «من كل زوجِ كريم» نوع حسن
Verse 7Surely, in this is a Sign, yet most of them are not believers
«إن في ذلك لآية» دلالة على كمال قدرته تعالى «وما كان أكثرهم مؤمنين» في علم الله، وكان قال سيبويه: زائدة
Verse 8And surely, your Lord! He is truly the All-Mighty, the Merciful
«وإن ربك لهو العزيز» ذو العزة ينتقم من الكافرين «الرحيم» يرحم المؤمنين
Verse 9And (remember) when your Lord called Moses (saying): “You go to the people who are wrongdoers
«و» اذكر يا محمد لقومك «إذ نادى ربك موسى» ليلة رأى النار والشجرة «أن» أي: بأن «ائت القوم الظالمين» رسولا
Verse 10the people of Pharaoh. Will they not fear Allah?”
«قوم فرعون» معه ظلموا أنفسهم بالكفر بالله وبني إسرائيل باستعبادهم «ألا» الهمزة للاستفهام الإنكارى «يتقون» الله بطاعته فيوحدونه
Verse 11He said: “My Lord! Surely, I fear that they will deny me
«قال» موسى «ربِ إني أخاف أن يكذّبون»
Verse 12and my breast straitens, and my tongue does not express well. So send Aaron
«ويضيق صدري» من تكذيبهم لي «ولا ينطلق لساني» بأداء الرسالة للعقدة التي فيه «فأرسل إلى» أخي «هارون» معي
Verse 13And they have a charge of crime (man-slaughter) against me, and I fear they will kill me.”
«ولهم عليَّ ذنبٌ» بقتل القبطي منهم «فأخاف أن يقتلون» به
Verse 14(Allah) said: “Nay! Go you both with Our Signs. Surely! We shall be with you, listening
«قال» تعالى: «كلا» لا يقتلونك «فاذهبا» أي أنت وأخوك، ففيه تغليب الحاضر على الغائب «بآياتنا إنا معكم مستمعون» ما تقولون وما يقال لكم، أجريا مجرى الجماعة
Verse 15And go to Pharaoh both of you and say: We are the Messengers of the Lord of the worlds
«فأتِيَا فرعون فقولا إنا» كلاً منا «رسول رب العالمين» إليك
Verse 16So (send to go) with us the children of Israel.”
«أن» أي: بأن «أرسل معنا» إلى الشام «بني إسرائيل» فأتياه فقالا له ما ذكر
Verse 17(Pharaoh) said (to Moses): “Did we not bring you up among us as a child? You stayed with us many years of your life
«قال» فرعون لموسى «ألم نربِّك فينا» في منازلنا «وليدا» صغيرا قريبا من الولادة بعد فطامه «ولبثت فينا من عمرك سنين» ثلاثين سنة يلبس من ملابس فرعون ويركب من مراكبه وكان يسمى ابنه
Verse 18And you did what you did (crime of killing a man). You are one of the ungrateful.”
«وفعلت فعلتك التي فعلت» هي قتله القبطي «وأنت من الكافرين» الجاحدين لنعمتي عليك بالتربية وعدم الاستعباد
Verse 19Moses said: “I did it then when I was from the misguided
«قال» موسى «فعلتها إذاً» أي حينئذ «وأنا من الضالين» عما آتاني الله بعدها من العلم والرسالة
Verse 20So I fled from you when I feared you. But my Lord has granted me right judgment, and made me one of the Messengers
«ففررتُ منكم لما خفتكم فوهب لي ربي حكما» علما «وجعلني من المرسلين»
Verse 21And this is a favor with which you admonish me, that you have enslaved the children of Israel.”
«وتلك نعمةٌ تمنُّها عليَّ» أصله تمن بها عليَّ «أن عبدت بني إسرائيل» بيان لتلك: أي اتخذتهم عبيدا ولم تستعبدني لا نعمة لك بذلك لظلمك باستعبادهم وقدر بعضهم أول الكلام همزة استفهام للإنكار
Verse 22Pharaoh said: “And who is the Lord of the worlds?”
«قال فرعون» لموسى «وما رب العالمين» الذي قلت إنك رسوله أي: أي شيء هو ولما لم يكن سبيل للخلق إلى معرفة حقيقته تعالى وإنما يعرفونه بصفاته أجابه موسى عليه الصلاة والسلام ببعضها
Verse 23(Moses) said: “Lord of the heavens and the earth, and all that is between them, if you are seeking to be convinced with certainty.”
«قال ربُّ السماوات والأرض وما بينهما» أي خالق ذلك «إن كنتم موقنين» بأنه تعالى خالقه فآمنوا به وحده
Verse 24(Pharaoh) said to those around him: “Don’t you hear (what he says)?”
«قال» فرعون «لمن حوله» من أشراف قومه «ألا تستمعون» جوابه الذي لم يطابق السؤال
Verse 25(Moses) said: “(Allah is) your Lord and the Lord of your forefathers!”
«قال» موسى «ربكم ورب آبائكم الأولين» وهذا وإن كان داخلا فيما قبله يغيظ فرعون ولذلك
Verse 26(Pharaoh) said: “Surely, your Messenger who has been sent to you is a madman!”
«قال إنَّ رسولكم الذي أرسل إليكم لمجنون»
Verse 27(Moses) said: “Lord of the east and the west, and all that is between them, if you did but understand!”
«قال» موسى «ربُّ المشرق والمغرب وما بينهما إن كنتم تعقلون» إنه كذلك فآمنوا به وحده
Verse 28(Pharaoh) said: “If you choose one worthy of worship other than me, I will certainly put you among the prisoners.”
«قال» فرعون لموسى «لئن اتخذت إلها غيري لأجعلنَّك من المسجونين» كان سجنه شديدا يحبس الشخص في مكان تحت الأرض وحده لا يبصر ولا يسمع فيه أحدا
Verse 29(Moses) said: “Even if I bring you something clear?”
«قال» له موسى «أوَلوْ» أي: أتفعل ذلك ولو «جئتك بشيءٍ مبينِ» برهان بيِّن على رسالتي
Verse 30(Pharaoh) said: “Bring it forth, if you are from the truthful!”
«قال» فرعون له «فأتِ به إن كنت من الصادقين» فيه
Verse 31So (Moses) threw his stick, and behold, it was a clear serpent
«فألقى عصاه فإذا هي ثعبانٌ مبينٌ» حية عظيمة
Verse 32And then he drew out his hand, and behold, it became white (bright) to all beholders
«ونزع يده» أخرجها من جيبه «فإذا هي بيضاء» ذات شعاع «للناظرين» خلاف ما كانت عليه من الأدمة
Verse 33(Pharaoh) said to the chiefs around him: “Surely! This is indeed a well-Versed sorcerer
«قال» فرعون «للملإ حوله إنَّ هذا لساحر عليم» فائق في علم السحر
Verse 34he wants to drive you out of your land by his sorcery. Now what is it that you advice?”
«يريد أن يخرجكم من أرضكم بسحره فماذا تأمرون»
Verse 35They said: “Put him off and his brother (for a while), and send callers to the cities
«قالوا أرجه وأخاه» أخّر أمرهما «وابعث في المدائن حاشرين» جامعين
Verse 36they will bring to you every well-Versed sorcerer.”
«يأتوك بكل سَحَّار عليم» يفضل موسى في علم السحر
Verse 37So the sorcerers were assembled at a fixed time on an appointed Day
«فجمع السحرة لميقات يوم معلوم» وهو وقت الضحى من يوم الزينة
Verse 38And it was said to the people: “Will you assemble
«وقيل للناس هل أنتم مجتمعون»
Verse 39So that we may follow the sorcerers if they are the winners.”
«لعلنا نتبع السحرة إن كانوا هم الغالبين» الاستفهام للحث على الاجتماع والترجي على تقدير غلبتهم ليستمروا على دينهم فلا يتبعوا موسى
Verse 40When the sorcerers arrived, they said to Pharaoh: “Is there a reward for us if we are the winners?”
«فلما جاء السحرة قالوا لفرعون أئن» بتحقيق الهمزتين وتسهيل الثانية وإدخال ألف بينهما على الوجيهين «لنا لأجرا إن كنا نحن الغالبين»
Verse 41(Pharaoh) said: “Yes, and surely then you will be of those brought near (to me).”
«قال نعم وإنكم إذاً» أي حينئذ «لمن المقربين»
Verse 42Moses said to them: “Throw what you are going to throw!”
«قال لهم موسى» بعد ما قالوا له (إما أن تُلقي وإما أن نكون نحن الملقين) «ألقوا ما أنتم ملقون» فالأمر فيه للإذن بتقديم إلقائهم توسلا به إلى إظهار الحق
Verse 43So they threw their ropes and their sticks, and said: “By the might of Pharaoh, it is we who will be the winners!”
«فألقوْا حبالهم وعصيهم وقالوا بعزة فرعون إنا لنحن الغالبون»
Verse 44Then Moses threw his stick, and behold, it swallowed up all that they falsely showed
«فألقى موسى عصاه فإذا هي تلقف» بحذف إحدى التاءين من الأصل تبتلع «ما يأفكون» يقلبونه بتمويههم فيخيلون حبالهم وعصيهم أنها حيات تسعى
Verse 45And the sorcerers fell down prostrate
«فألقيَ السحرة ساجدين»
Verse 46saying: “We believe in the Lord of the worlds
«قالوا آمنا برب العالمين»
Verse 47the Lord of Moses and Aaron.”
«رب موسى وهارون» لعلمهم بأن ما شاهدوه من العصا لا يتأتى بالسحر
Verse 48(Pharaoh) said: “You have believed in him before I give permission to you. Surely, he is your chief who has taught you magic! So surely, you shall come to know. I will cut off your hands and your legs on opposite sides, and I will crucify you all.”
«قال» فرعون «أآمنتم» بتحقيق الهمزتين وإبدال الثانية ألفا «له» لموسى «قبل أن آذن» أنا «لكم إنه لكبيركم الذي علمكم السحر» فعلَّمك شيئا منه وغلبكم بآخر «فلسوف تعلمون» ما ينالكم مني «لأقطعنَّ أيديكم وأرجلكم من خلاف» أي يد كل واحد اليمنى ورجله اليسرى «ولأصلبنكم أجمعين»
Verse 49They said: “No harm (don’t care)! Surely, we are going to return to our Lord (anyway)
«قالوا لا ضَيْرَ» لا ضرر علينا في ذلك «إنا إلى ربنا» بعد موتنا بأي وجه كان «منقلبون» راجعون في الآخرة
Verse 50Surely! We hope that our Lord will forgive us our sins, as we are the first of the believers (in Moses).”
«إنا نطمع» نرجوا «أن يغفر لنا ربنا خطايانا أن» أي بأن «كنَّا أول المؤمنين» في زماننا
Verse 51And We revealed to Moses saying: “Depart by night with My servants, surely, you will be pursued.”
«وأوحينا إلى موسى» بعد سنين أقامها بينهم يدعوهم بآيات الله إلى الحق فلم يزيدوا إلا عتوا «أن أسر بعبادي» بني إسرائيل وفي قراءة بكسر النون ووصل همزة أسر من سرى لغة في أسرى أي سر بهم ليلا إلى البحر «إنكم مُتَّبعون» يتبعكم فرعون وجنوده فيلجون وراءكم البحر فأنجيكم وأغرقهم
Verse 52Then Pharaoh sent callers to the cities
«فأرسل فرعون» حين أخبر بسيرهم «في المدائن» قيل كان له ألف مدينة واثنا عشر ألف قرية «حاشرين» جامعين الجيش قائلا
Verse 53(saying): “Surely! These are (indeed but) a small band
«إن هؤلاء لشرذمةٌ» طائفة «قليلون» قيل كانوا ستمائة ألف وسبعين ومقدمة جيشه سبعمائة ألف فقللهم بالنظر إلى كثرة جيشه
Verse 54and surely, they have enraged us
«وإنهم لنا لغائظون» فاعلون ما يغيظنا
Verse 55and surely we are all assembled, well prepared.”
«وإنا لجميعٌ حذرون» مستعدون وفي قراءة حاذرون متيقظون
Verse 56So, We made them leave from their gardens, water springs
قال تعالى: «فأخرجناهم» أي فرعون وقومه من مصر ليلحقوا موسى وقومه «من جنات» بساتين كانت على جانبي النيل «وعيون» أنهار جارية في الدور من النيل
Verse 57treasures, and honorable places
«وكنوز» أموال ظاهرة من الذهب والفضة، وسميت كنوزا لأنه لم يعط حق الله تعالى منها «ومقامٍ كريمٍ» مجلس حسن للأمراء والوزراء يحفه أتباعهم
Verse 58Thus We caused the children of Israel to inherit such things
«كذلك» أي إخراجنا كما وصفنا «وأورثناها بني إسرائيل» بعد إغراق فرعون وقومه
Verse 59So they (people of Pharaoh) pursued them at sunrise
«فأتبعوهم» لحقوهم «مشرقين» وقت شروق الشمس
Verse 60And when the 2 hosts saw (each other), the companions of Moses said: “Surely we are to be overtaken.”
«فلما تراءى الجمعان» رأى كل منهما الآخر «قال أصحاب موسى إنا لمدركون» يدركنا جمع فرعون ولا طاقة لنا به
Verse 61(Moses) said: “Nay, surely! With me is my Lord, He will guide me.”
«قال» موسى «كلا» أي لن يدركونا «إن معي ربي» ينصره «سيهدين» طريق النجاة
Verse 62Then We revealed to Moses (saying): “Strike the sea with your stick.” It parted, and each part (of the sea water) became like the huge mountain
قال تعالى: «فأوحينا إلى موسى أن اضرب بعصاك البحر» فضربه «فانفلق» فانشق اثنى عشر فرقا «فكان كل فرق كالطود العظيم» الجبل الضخم بينهما مسالك سلكوها لم يبتل منها سرج الراكب ولا لبده
Verse 63Then We brought near (to that sea) the others (Pharaoh and his army)
«وأزلفنا» قرَّبنا «ثمَّ» هناك «الآخرين» فرعون وقومه حتى سلكوا مسالكهم
Verse 64and We saved Moses and all those with him
«وأنجينا موسى ومن معه أجمعين» بإخراجهم من البحر على هيئته المذكورة
Verse 65then We drowned the others
«ثم أغرقنا الآخرين» فرعون وقومه بإطباق البحر عليهم لما تم دخولهم في البحر وخروج بني إسرائيل منه
Verse 66Surely! In this is indeed a sign, yet most of them are not believers
«إن في ذلك» إغراق فرعون وقومه «لآيةٌ» عبرة لمن بعدهم «وما كان أكثرهم مؤمنين» بالله لم يؤمن منهم غير آسية امرأة فرعون وحزقيل مؤمن آل فرعون ومريم بنت ناموصى التي دلت على عظام يوسف عليه السلام
Verse 67and surely, your Lord! He is truly the All-Mighty, the Merciful
«وإن ربك لهو العزيز» فانتقم من الكافرين بإغراقهم «الرحيم» بالمؤمنين فأنجاهم من الغرق
Verse 68And recite to them the story of Abraham
«واتل عليهم» أي كفار مكة «نبأ» خبر «إبراهيم» ويبدل منه
Verse 69when he (Abraham) said his father and his people: “What do you worship?”
«إذا قال لأبيه وقومه ما تعبدون»
Verse 70They said: “We worship idols, and we remain devoted to them.”
«قالوا نعبد أصناما» صرحوا بالفعل ليعطفوا عليه «فنظل لها عاكفين» نقيم نهارا على عبادتها زادوه في الجواب افتخارا به
Verse 71He said: “Do they hear you when you call (on them)
«قال هل يسمعونكم إذ» حين «تدعون»
Verse 72Or do they benefit you or do they harm you?”
«أو ينفعونكم» إن عبدتموهم «أو يضرونـ» كم إن لم تعبدوهم
Verse 73They said: “Nay, but we found our forefathers doing so.”
«قالوا بل وجدنا آباءنا كذلك يفعلون» أي مثل فعلنا
Verse 74He said: “Do you observe which you have been worshipping
«قال أفرآيتم ما كنتم تعبدون»
Verse 75you and your forefathers
«أنتم وآبائكم الأقدمون»
Verse 76Surely! They are enemies to me, except the Lord of the worlds
«فإنهم عدو لي» لا أعبدهم «إلا» لكن «ربَّ العالمين» فإني أعبده
Verse 77who has created me, and it is He who guides me
«الذي خلقني فهو يهدين» إلى الدين
Verse 78And it is He Who feeds me and gives me to drink
«والذي هو يطعمني ويسقين»
Verse 79and when I am ill, it is He Who cures me
«وإذا مرضت فهو يشفين»
Verse 80Who will cause me to die, then will bring me to life (again)
«والذي يُميتني ثم يحيين»
Verse 81and Who, I hope, will forgive me my faults on the Day of Recompense.”
«والذي أطمع» أرجو «أن يغفر لي خطيئتي يوم الدين» الجزاء
Verse 82(Abraham prayed): “My Lord! Bestow wisdom on me, join me with the righteous
«رب هب لي حكما» علما «وألحقني بالصالحين» النبيين
Verse 83and grant me an honorable mention in later generations
«واجعل لي لسان صدق» ثناء حسنا «في الآخرين» الذين يأتون بعدي إلى يوم القيامة
Verse 84and make me one of the inheritors of the Paradise of Delight
«واجعلني من ورثة جنة النعيم» ممن يعطاها
Verse 85and forgive my father, surely he is of the erring
«واغفر لأبي إنه كان من الضالين» بأن تتوب عليه فتغفر له وهذا قبل أن يتبين له أنه عدو لله كما ذكر في سورة براءة
Verse 86and don’t disgrace me on the Day when all creatures will be resurrected
«ولا تخزني» تفضحني «يوم يُبعثون» الناس
Verse 87the Day when neither wealth nor sons will avail
قال تعالى فيه: «يوم لا ينفع مال ولا بنون» أحدا
Verse 88except the one who will bring a clean heart to Allah
«إلا» لكن «من أتى الله بقلب سليم» من الشرك والنفاق وهو قلب المؤمن فإنه ينفعه ذلك
Verse 89and Paradise will be brought near to the pious
«وأُزلفت الجنة» قربت «للمتقين» فيرونها
Verse 90and the hellfire will be placed in full view for the erring
«وبرزت الجحيم» أظهرت «للغاوين» الكافرين
Verse 91and it will be said to them: “Where are those (false deities) that you used to worship
«وقيل لهم أين ما كنتم تعبدون»
Verse 92instead of Allah? Can they help you or help themselves?”
«من دون الله» أي غيره من الأصنام «هل ينصرونكم» بدفع العذاب عنكم «أو ينتصرون» بدفعه عن أنفسهم، لا
Verse 93Then they will be thrown on their faces into it (fire), they are those who were in error
«فكُبْكِبوا» ألقوا «فيها هم والغاوون»
Verse 94and the hosts (soldiers) of Satan together
«وجنود إبليس» أتباعه، ومن أطاعه من الجن والإنس «أجمعون»
Verse 95they will say while they argue in it
«قالوا» أي الغاوون «وهم فيها يختصمون» مع معبوديهم
Verse 96(saying): “by Allah, we were truly in a clear error
«تالله إن» مخففة من الثقلية واسمها محذوف أي إنه «كنا لفي ضلال مبين» بين
Verse 97when We held you (false deities) as equals (in worship) with the Lord of the worlds
«إذ» حيث «نسويكم برب العالمين» في العبادة
Verse 98And none has brought us into error except the criminals
«وما أضلنا» عن الهدى «إلا المجرمون» أي الشياطين أو أوّلونا الذين اقتدينا بهم
Verse 99Now we have no intercessors
«فما لنا من شافعين» كما للمؤمنين من الملائكة والنبيين والمؤمنين
Verse 100nor a close friend (to help us)
«ولا صديق حميم» يهمه أمرنا
Verse 101If we had a chance (to return to the world), we would be among the believers!”
«فلو أن لنا كرَّة» رجعة إلى الدنيا «فنكون من المؤمنين» لو هنا للتمني ونكون جوابه
Verse 102Surely! In this narration there is indeed a sign, yet most of them are not believers
«إن في ذلك» المذكور من قصة إبراهيم وقومه «لآية وما كان أكثرهم مؤمنين»
Verse 103And surely, your Lord, He is truly the All-Mighty, the Merciful
«وإن ربك لهم العزيز الرحيم»
Verse 104The people of Noah denied the Messengers
«كذبت قوم نوح المرسلين» بتكذيبهم له لاشتراكهم في المجيء بالتوحيد، أو لأنه لطول لبثه فيهم كأنه رسل وتأنيث قوم باعتبار معناه وتذكيره باعتبار لفظه
Verse 105When their brother Noah said to them: “Will you not fear Allah
«إذ قال لهم أخوهم» نسبا «نوح ألا تتقون» الله
Verse 106Surely I am a trustworthy Messenger to you
«إني لكم رسول أمين» على تبليغ ما أرسلت به
Verse 107so fear Allah, and obey me
«فاتقوا الله وأطيعون» فيما آمركم به من توحيد الله وطاعته
Verse 108I don’t ask you any reward for it (my message), my reward is not but from the Lord of the worlds
«وما أسألكم عليه» على تبليغه «من أجر إن» ما «أجريَ» أي ثوابي «إلا على رب العالمين»
Verse 109so fear Allah and obey me.”
«فاتقوا الله وأطيعون» كرره تأكيدا
Verse 110They said: “Shall we believe in you, when the lowest (of the people) follow you?”
«قالوا أنؤمن» نصدق «لك» لقولك «واتبعك» وفي قراءة وأتباعك جمع تابع مبتدأ «الأرذلون» السفلة كالحاكة والأساكفة
Verse 111He said: “And what knowledge have I of what they used to do
«قال وما علمي» أيّ علم لي «بما كانوا يعلمون»
Verse 112Their account is with my Lord, if you could know
«إن» ما «حسابهم إلا على ربي» فيجازيهم «لو تشعرون» تعلمون ذلك ما عبَّدتموهم
Verse 113And I am not going to drive away the believers
«وما أنا بطارد المؤمنين»
Verse 114I am not but a plain Warner.”
«إن» ما «أنا إلا نذير مبين» بيَّن الإنذار
Verse 115They said: “If you don’t cease, O Noah! You will surely be among those stoned (to death).”
«قالوا لئن لم تنته يا نوح» عما تقول لنا «لتكونن من المرجومين» بالحجارة أو بالشتم
Verse 116He said: “My Lord! Surely, my people have denied me
«قال» نوح «رب إن قومي كذبون»
Verse 117Therefore judge between me and them with fair judgment, and save me and those of the believers who are with me.”
«فافتح بيني وبينهم فتحا» أي احكم «ونجني ومن معي من المؤمنين»
Verse 118And We saved him and those with him in the laden ship
قال تعالى «فأنجيناه ومن معه في الفلك المشحون» المملوء من الناس والحيوان والطير
Verse 119then We drowned the rest (disbelievers) thereafter
«ثم أغرقنا بعد» بعد إنجائهم «الباقين» من قومه
Verse 120Surely, in this is indeed a sign, yet most of them are not believers
«إن ذلك لآية وما كان أكثرهم مؤمنين»
Verse 121And surely! Your Lord, He is indeed the All-Mighty, the Merciful
«وإن ربك لهو العزيز الرحيم»
Verse 122Ad (people) denied the Messengers
«كذبت عادٌ المرسلين»
Verse 123When their brother Hud said to them: “Will you not fear Allah
«إذ قال لهم أخوهم هود ألا تتقون»
Verse 124Surely! I am a trustworthy Messenger to you
«إني لكم رسول أمين»
Verse 125So fear Allah, and obey me
«فاتقوا الله وأطيعون»
Verse 126I don’t ask you any reward for it, my reward is from the Lord of the worlds
«وما أسألكم عليه من أجر إن» ما «أجري إلا على رب العالمين»
Verse 127Do you build landmark on every high palace to play for fun
«أتبنون بكل ريع» مكان مرتفع «آية» بنا علما للمارة «تعبثون» ممن يمر بكم وتسخرون منهم والجملة حال من ضمير تبنون
Verse 128And do you take for yourselves palaces (fine buildings) as if you will reside therein forever
«وتتخذون مصانع» للماء تحت الأرض «لعلكم» كأنكم «تخلدون» فيها لا تموتون
Verse 129And when you seize anyone, you seize him as tyrants
«وإذا بطشتم» بضرب أو قتل «بطشتم جبارين» من غير رأفة
Verse 130So fear Allah, and obey me
«فاتقوا الله» في ذلك «وأطيعون» فيما أمرتكم به
Verse 131And Fear Him Who has aided you with all (good things) that you know
«واتقوا الذي أمدكم» أنعم عليكم «بما تعملون»
Verse 132He has aided you with cattle, children
«أمدكم بأنعام وبنين»
Verse 133and gardens, and springs
«وجنات» بساتين «وعيون» أنهار
Verse 134Surely, I fear for you the punishment of a Great Day.”
«إني أخاف عليكم عذاب يوم عظيم» في الدنيا والآخرة إن عصيتموني
Verse 135They said: “It is the same to us whether you preach or you are not of those who preach
«قالوا سواء علينا» مستو عندنا «أوعظت أم لم تكن من الواعظين» أصلا أي لا نرعوي لوعظك
Verse 136This is nothing but the customs of the ancients
«إن» ما «هذا» الذي خوفنا به «إلا خَلْق الأولين» اختلافهم وكذبهم وفي قراءة بضم الخاء واللام أي ما هذا الذي نحن عليه من إنكار للبعث إلا خلق الأولين أي طبيعتهم وعادتهم
Verse 137And we are not going to be punished.”
«وما نحن بمعذبين»
Verse 138So they denied him, and We destroyed them. Surely! In this is indeed a sign, yet most of them are not believers
«فكذبوه» بالعذاب «فأهلكناهم» في الدنيا بالريح «إن في ذلك لآية وما كان أكثرهم مؤمنين»
Verse 139And surely! Your Lord, He is indeed the All-Mighty, the Merciful
««إن ربك لهو العزيز الرحيم»
Verse 140Thamud (people) denied the Messengers
«كذبت ثمود المرسلين»
Verse 141When their brother Saleh said to them: “Will you not fear Allah
«إذ قال لهم أخوهم صالح ألا تتقون»
Verse 142Surely I am a trustworthy Messenger to you
«إني لكم رسول أمين»
Verse 143So fear Allah, and obey me
«فاتقوا الله وأطيعون»
Verse 144I don’t ask any reward for it (my message); my reward is from the Lord of the worlds
«وما أسألكم عليه من أجر إن» ما «أجري إلا على رب العالمين»
Verse 145Will you be left secure in that which you have here (forever)
«أتتركون في ما ههنا» من الخيرات «آمنين»
Verse 146In gardens, springs
«في جنات وعيون»
Verse 147and cornfields, and date-palms with its soft flowering branches
«وزروع ونخل طلعها هضيم» لطيف لين
Verse 148and you carve houses in the mountains skillfully
«وتنحتون من الجبال بيوتا فرهين» بطرين وفي قراءة فارهين حاذقين
Verse 149So fear Allah, and obey me
«فاتقوا الله وأطيعون» فيما أمرتكم به
Verse 150And don’t follow the command of the wasters
«ولا تطيعوا أمر المسرفين»
Verse 151who make mischief in the land, and don’t reform.”
«الذين يفسدون في الأرض» بالمعاصي «ولا يصلحون» بطاعة الله
Verse 152They said: “Surely you are only of those bewitched
«قالوا إنما أنت من المسحرين» الذين سحروا كثيرا حتى غلب على عقلهم
Verse 153You are not but a human being like us. Then bring us a sign if you are of the truthful.”
«ما أنت» أيضا «إلا بشر مثلنا فأت بآية إن كنتم من الصادقين» في رسالتك
Verse 154He (Saleh) said: “This is a she-camel (Allah sent as you asked); it has a right to drink water and you have a right to drink water on a known day
«قال هذه ناقة لها شرب» نصيب من الماء «ولكم شرب يوم معلوم»
Verse 155And don’t touch her with harm, lest the punishment of a great Day may seize you.”
«ولا تمسوها بسوء فيأخذكم عذاب يوم عظيم» بعظم العذاب
Verse 156But they killed her, and then they became regretful
«فعقروها» عقرها بعضهم برضاهم «فأصبحوا نادمين» على عقرها
Verse 157so the punishment overtook them. Surely, in this is indeed a sign, yet most of them are not believers
«فأخذهم العذاب» الموعود به فهلكوا «إن في ذلك لآية وما كان أكثرهم مؤمنين»
Verse 158And surely! Your Lord, He is indeed the All-Mighty, the Merciful
«وإن ربك لهو العزيز الرحيم»
Verse 159The people of Lot denied the Messengers
«كذبت قوم لوط المرسلين»
Verse 160When their brother Lot said to them: “Will you not fear Allah
«إذ قال لهم أخوهم لوط ألا تتقون»
Verse 161Surely! I am a trustworthy Messenger to you
«إني لكم رسول أمين»
Verse 162So fear Allah, and obey me
«فاتقوا الله وأطيعون»
Verse 163I don’t ask of you any reward for it (my message), my reward is from the Lord of the worlds
«وما أسألكم عليه من أجر إن» ما «أجري إلا على رب العالمين»
Verse 164And will you go into the males (to fornicate) of the mankind
«أتأتون الذكران من العالمين» الناس
Verse 165and leave those whom Allah has created for you to be your wives? Nay, you are a transgressing people!”
«وتذرون ما خلق لكم ربكم من أزواجكم» أي أقبالهن «بل أنتم قوم عادون» متجاوزون الحلال إلى الحرام
Verse 166They said: “If you don’t cease, O Lot! Surely, you will be one of those who are expelled!”
«قالوا لئن لم تنته يا لوط» عن إنكارك علينا «لتكونن من المخرجين» من بلدتنا
Verse 167He said: “I am, indeed of those who disapprove with severe anger and fury
«قال» لوط «إني لعملكم من القالين» المبغضين
Verse 168My Lord! Save me and my family from what they do.”
«رب نجني وأهلي مما يعلمون» أي من عذابه
Verse 169So We saved him and all his family
«فنجيناه وأهله أجمعين»
Verse 170except an old woman (his wife) among those who remained behind
«إلا عجوزا» امرأته «في الغابرين» الباقين أهلكناها
Verse 171Then afterward We destroyed the others
«ثم دمرنا الآخرين» أهلناهم
Verse 172And We rained on them a rain (of punishment). Evil was the rain which fell on those who had been warned
«وأمطرنا عليهم مطرا» حجارة من جملة الإهلاك «فساء مطر المنذرين» مطرهم
Verse 173Surely, in this is indeed a sign, yet most of them are not believers
«إن في ذلك لآية وما كان أكثرهم مؤمنين»
Verse 174And surely! Your Lord, He is indeed the All-Mighty, the Merciful
«وإن ربك لهو العزيز الرحيم»
Verse 175The residents of Al-Aiyka (a garden with thick trees near Midian) denied the Messengers
«كذب أصحاب الأيكة» وفي قراءة بحذف الهمزة وإلقاء حركتها على اللام وفتح الهاء: هي غيضة شجر قرب مدين «المرسلين»
Verse 176When Shuaib said to them: “Will you not fear Allah
«إذ قال لهم شعيب» لم يقل أخوهم لأنه لم يكن منهم «ألا تتقون»
Verse 177I am a trustworthy Messenger to you
«إني لكم رسول أمين»
Verse 178So fear Allah, and obey me
«فاتقوا الله وأطيعون»
Verse 179I don’t ask of you any reward for it (my message), my reward is from the Lord of the worlds
«وما أسألكم عليه من أجر إن» ما «أجري إلا على رب العالمين»
Verse 180Give full measure, and don’t be among those who cause loss (to others by fraud)
«أوْفوا الكيل» أتموه «ولا تكونوا من المخسرين» الناقصين
Verse 181And weigh with the just straight balance
«وزنوا بالقسطاس المستقيم» الميزان السوي
Verse 182and neither defraud people by reducing their things, nor do evil in the land making corruption
«ولا تبخسوا الناس أشياءهم» لا تنقصوهم من حقهم شيئا «ولا تعثوْا في الأرض مفسدين» بالقتل وغيره من عَثِيَ بكسر المثلثة أفسد ومفسدين حال مؤكدة لمعنى عاملها
Verse 183And fear Him Who created you and the generations before you.”
«واتقوا الذي خلقكم والجبلة» الخليقة «الأولين»
Verse 184They said: “Surely you are one of those bewitched
«قالوا إنما أنت من المسحرين»
Verse 185You are not but a human being like us and surely, we think that indeed you are one of the liars
«وما أنت إلا بشر مثلنا وإن» مخففة من الثقيلة واسمها محذوف أي إنه «نظنك لمن الكاذبين»
Verse 186So cause a piece of the heaven to fall on us, if you are of the truthful!”
«فأسقط علينا كسْفا» بسكون السين وفتحها قطعا «من السماء إن كنت من الصادقين» في رسالتك
Verse 187He said: “My Lord is Best Knower of what you do.”
«قال ربي أعلم بما تعملون» فيجازيكم به
Verse 188But they denied him, so the punishment of the Day of shadow (cloud carrying Allah’s punishment) seized them, indeed that was the punishment of a great Day
«فكذبوه فأخذهم عذاب يوم الظلة» هي سحابة أظلتهم بعد حر شديد أصابهم فأمطرت عليهم نارا فاحترقوا «إنه كان عذاب يوم عظيم»
Verse 189Surely, in this is indeed a sign, yet most of them are not believers
«إن في ذلك لآية وما كان أكثرهم مؤمنين»
Verse 190And surely! Your Lord, He is indeed the All-Mighty, the Merciful
«وإن ربك لهو العزيز الرحيم»
Verse 191And truly, this (the Qur’an) is a revelation of the Lord of the worlds
«وإنه» أي القرآن «لتنزيل رب العالمين»
Verse 192The trustworthy spirit (Gabriel) has brought down
«نزل به الروح الأمين» جبريل
Verse 193upon your heart (O Muhammad) so that you may be one of the warners
«على قلبك لتكون من المنذرين»
Verse 194in the plain Arabic language
«بلسان عربي مبين» بيَّن وفي قراءة بتشديد نزل ونصب الروح والفاعل الله
Verse 195And surely, it (the Qur’an) has the Scriptures of former people
«وإنه» ذكر القرآن المنزل على محمد «لفي زُبُر» كتب «الأولين» كالتوراة والإنجيل
Verse 196Is it not a sign to them that the learned scholars knew it of the children of Israel
«أو لم يكن لهم» لكفار مكة «آية» على ذلك «أن يعلمه علماء بني إسرائيل» كعبد الله بن سلام وأصحابه من الذين آمنوا فإنهم يخبرون بذلك، ويكن بالتحتانية ونصب آية وبالفوقانية ورفع آية
Verse 197And if We had revealed it (this Qur’an) to any of the non-Arabs
«ولو نزلناه على بعض الأعجمين» جمع أعجم
Verse 198and who had recited it (in Arabic) to them, they would still not have believed in it
«فقرأه عليهم» كفار مكة «ما كانوا به مؤمنين» أنفة من اتباعه
Verse 199We have caused it (disbelief) to enter in the hearts of the criminals
«كذلك» أي مثل إدخالنا التكذيب به بقراءة الأعجمي «سلكناه» أدخلنا التكذيب به «في قلوب المجرمين» كفار مكة بقراءة النبي
Verse 200They will not believe in it until they see the painful punishment
«لا يؤمنون به حتى يروا العذاب الأليم»
Verse 201it will come to them suddenly while they don’t perceive it
«فيأتيهم بغتة وهم لا يشعرون»
Verse 202Then they will say: “Can we be given respite?”
«فيقولوا هل نحن منظرون» لنؤمن فيقال لهم: لا قالوا: متى هذا العذاب، قال تعالى
Verse 203Do they wish to hasten on Our Punishment
«أفبعذابنا يستعجلون»
Verse 204Have you thought if We do let them enjoy for years
«أفرأيت» أخبرني «إن متَّعناهم سنين»
Verse 205and afterwards comes to them what (punishment) they are promised
«ثم جاءهم ما كانوا يوعدون» من العذاب
Verse 206all that which their past enjoyment be to them
«ما» إستفهامية بمعنى: أي شيء «أغنى عنهم ما كانوا يمتعون» في دفع العذاب أو تخفيفه أي: لم يغن
Verse 207And We never destroyed a township without sending its warners
«وما أهلكنا من قرية إلا لها منذرون» رسل تنذر أهلها
Verse 208by way of reminder (in advance), and We have never been unjust
«ذكرى» عظة لهم «وما كنا ظالمين» في إهلاكهم بعد إنذارهم ونزل ردا لقول المشركين
Verse 209And it is not the devils who have brought it (this Qur’an) down
«وما تنزلت به» بالقرآن «الشياطين»
Verse 210neither it would suit them, nor they can produce it
«وما ينبغي» يصلح «لهم» أن ينزلوا به «وما يستطيعون» ذلك
Verse 211Surely, they have been removed far from hearing it
«إنهم عن السمع» لكلام الملائكة «لمعزولون» بالشهب
Verse 212So don’t invoke with Allah another one worthy of worship lest you be among those who receive punishment
«فلا تدع مع الله إلها آخر فتكون من المعذبين» إن فعلت ذلك الذي دعوك إليه
Verse 213And warn your tribe (O Muhammad) of near relatives
(وأنذر عشيرتك الأقربين) وهم بنو هاشم وبنو عبد المطلب "" وقد أنذرهم جهارا "" رواه البخاري ومسلم
Verse 214and lower or put down your wing (be kind and humble) to those of the believers who follow you
«واخفض جناحكْ» ألن جانبك «لمن اتبعك من المؤمنين» الموحدين
Verse 215if they disobey you, say: “Verily, I am not responsible for what you do.”
«فإن عصوك» عشيرتك «فقل» لهم «إني بريء مما تعملون» من عبادة غير الله
Verse 216And put your trust in the Mighty, the Merciful
«وتوكل» بالواو والفاء «على العزيز الرحيم» الله أي فوض إليه جميع أمورك
Verse 217Who sees you (O Muhammad) when you stand up (at night in prayers)
«الذي يراك حين تقوم» إلى الصلاة
Verse 218and see your movements among those who fall prostrate
«وتقلبك» في أركان الصلاة قائما وقاعدا وراكعا وساجدا «في الساجدين» المصلين
Verse 219Surely! He is the All-Hearer, the All-Knower
«إنه هو السميع العليم»
Verse 220Shall I inform you (O people!) upon whom the devils descend
«هل أنبئكم» يا كفرا مكة «على من تنزل الشياطين» بحذف إحدى التاءين من الأصل
Verse 221They descend on every liar, sinner
«تنزل على كل أفاك» كذاب «أثيم» فاجر مثل مسيلمة وغيره من الكهنة
Verse 222who gives ear (to the devils), most of them are liars
«يلقون» الشياطين «السمع» ما سمعوه من الملائكة إلى الكهنة «وأكثرهم كاذبون» يضمنون إلى المسموع كذبا وكان هذا قبل أن حجبت الشياطين عن السماء
Verse 223as for the poets, the erring ones follow them
«والشعراء يتبعهم الغاوون» في شعرهم فيقولن به ويرونه عنهم فهم مذمومون
Verse 224Don’t you see how aimlessly they wander in every valley
«ألم تر» تعلم «أنهم في كل واد» من أودية الكلام وفنونه «يهيمون» يمضون فيجازون الحد مدحا وهجاء
Verse 225and say what they don’t do
«وأنهم يقولون» فعلنا «مالا يفعلون» يكذبون
Verse 226Except those who believe, do righteous deeds, remember Allah much, and vindicate themselves after they have wronged. Those who do wrong (will know) what overturning they will be overturned
«إلا الذين آمنوا وعملوا الصالحات» من الشعراء. «وذكروا الله كثيرا» لم يشغلهم الشعر عن الذكر «وانتصروا» بهجوهم الكفار «من بعد ما ظلموا» بهجو الكفار لهم في جملة المؤمنين فليسو مذمومين قال الله تعالى: (لا يحب الله الجهر بالسوء من القول إلا من ظلم) وقال تعالى (فمن اعتدى عليكم فاعتدوا عليه بمثل ما اعتدي عليكم) «وسيعلم الذين ظلموا» من الشعراء وغيرهم «أي منقلب» مرجع «ينقلبون» يرجعون بعد الموت
Verse 227
