82. Al-Infitaar

When the heaven will cleft asunder

«إذا السماء انفطرت» انشقت

Verse 1

and when the stars will scatter

«وإذا الكواكب انتثرت» انقضت وتساقطت

Verse 2

and when the oceans are burst out

«وإذا البحار فُجِّرت» فتح بعضها في بعض فصارت بحرا واحدا واختلط العذب بالملح

Verse 3

and when the graves will be turned upside down (bring out their contents)

«وإذا القبور بُعثرت» قلب ترابها وبعث موتاها وجواب إذا وما عطف عليها

Verse 4

every person will know what he has sent forward and what left behind

«علمت نفس» أي كل نفس وقت هذه المذكورات وهو يوم القيامة «ما قدمت» من الأعمال «و» ما «أَخَّرت» منها فلم تعمله

Verse 5

O people! What has made you careless about your Lord, the Generous

«يا أيها الإنسان» الكافر «ما غرَّك بربك الكريم» حتى عصيته

Verse 6

who created you, fashioned you perfectly, gave you due proportion

«الذي خلقك» بعد أن لم تكن «فسوَّاك» جعلك مستوي الخلقة، سالم الأعضاء «فعدَلك» بالتخفيف والتشديد: جعلك معتدل الخلق متناسب الأعضاء ليست يد أو رجل أطول من الأخرى

Verse 7

and put you together in whatever form He willed

«في أي صورة ما» صلة «شاء ركَّبك»

Verse 8

Nay! But you deny the Day of Judgment

«كلا» ردع عن الاغترار بكرم الله تعالى «بل تكذبون» أي كفار مكة «بالدين» بالجزاء على الأعمال

Verse 9

But surely, (angels have been appointed to watch) over you

«وإن عليكم لحافظين» من الملائكة لأعمالكم

Verse 10

(who are) honorable writers

«كِراما» على الله «كاتبين» لها

Verse 11

they know all of what you do

«يعلمون ما تفعلون» جميعه

Verse 12

Surely, (on that Day) the righteous will be in delight (Paradise)

«إن الأبرار» المؤمنين الصادقين في إيمانهم «لفي نعيم» جنة

Verse 13

and surely, the wicked (evil-doers) will be in the fire (hell)

«وإن الفجار الكفار «لفي جحيم» نار محرقة

Verse 14

and they will burn in it on the Day of recompense

«يصلونها» يدخلونها ويقاسون حرَّها «يوم الدين» الجزاء

Verse 15

and they will not be able to escape from it

«وما هم عنها بغائبين» بمخرجين

Verse 16

And what will make you know what the Day of the recompense is

«وما أدراك» أعلمك «ما يوم الدين»

Verse 17

Again, what will make you know what the Day of recompense is

«ثم ما أدراك ما يومُ الدين» تعظيم لشأنه

Verse 18

(It will be) the Day when no one will have the power to do anything for another: on that Day, the decision will be entirely with Allah

«يوم» بالرفع، أي هو يوم «لا تملك نفس لنفس شيئا» من المنفعة «والأمر يومئذ لله» لا أمر لغيره فيه، أي لم يمكن أحدا من التوسط فيه بخلاف الدنيا
